April 20, The Kingdom

Today’s reading: Psalms 96-100

“Say among the nations, ‘The Lord reigns.’
The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
he will judge the peoples with equity” - Psalm 96:10.

When Jesus started His ministry, He preached this message: “’The time has come,’ he said. ‘The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!’” (Mark 1:15). Jesus came preaching the Kingdom and He expects you and I to do the same thing. That means that God wants to establish His government in your life, in the life of the Church and then in every ethnic group on earth. The redeemed have credibility to say to the unredeemed that the Lord reigns when He truly reigns in the lives of His people. Are you a ‘Kingdom person’? Have you accepted Jesus as both Savior and Lord or King? Are you working to have His rule established over every area of your life? Then are you helping to extend His rule to other areas, like where you work? Finally, are you helping others who are proclaiming the Kingdom as missionaries in other lands?
