April 28, He Will Save You

Today’s reading: Psalms 136-140

“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me” - Psalm 138:7.

David always seemed to be in trouble, some of it through his own doing and some of it because of his God-assigned purpose. Regardless of the source of his trouble, he always looked to the Lord, crying out to Him for help and deliverance. What’s more, God heard his cry for help, even when David was to blame for his troubles! God did the same for Samson, who made a mess of his life, yet prevailed one last time as his hair grew back after his encounter with Delilah: “Then Samson prayed to the Lord, ‘Sovereign Lord, remember me. Please, God, strengthen me just once more, and let me with one blow get revenge on the Philistines for my two eyes’” (Judges 16:28). If Samson and David can cry out to God even when they failed, so can you! Don’t hesitate to turn to him when you are in trouble, regardless of its source. He will come and save you!
