Six words that begin with the letter f can summarize
my work with leaders for the last few years. These words are:
Freedom
- seeing people freed to be who they were created to be, not who someone
wants or has told them
to be.
Flow
- helping people find their purpose, define their
values, develop a leadership philosophy, set goals, and manage
time to create a flow of life that provides consistency and order.
Focus - assisting people to keep the main thing the
main thing, whether on a daily or life-long basis.
Faith - motivating people to trust God for productivity
and peace.
Fruit - helping people finish what they dream.
Fun - inspiring people to enjoy life and the work
that
each is assigned to do.
These concepts, in one form or another, are found in my book,
So Many Leaders, So Little Leadership. But the concept of servant leadership
is the most significant theme that has emerged in my leadership and business seminars.
With that in mind, I include a chapter from my book entitled Servant
Leaders (PDF) to give you an idea of what I mean by this important concept.
Note: to view the PDF file,
you will need the Free
Acrobat Reader. When you are finished, you can move through this section
of the website to find my Purpose statement, Values,
Leadership Philosophy, and a recommended Book
List for those who regularly ask.
Also found in this section is an introduction to the DISC
profile that I have given in many countries to many leaders. This simple profile
gives you valuable insight into your leadership - and follow-ship - style and
how it relates to those with whom youre working. You can actually take the
profile and then generate a most helpful report that includes communication and
work tips, ideal work environment, and other insights for further study, research
and leadership development.
When youve taken the profile, you can move on to the Store
section to purchase additional leadership resources. But for right now, lets
spend a few minutes talking about servant leadership.
