April 29, Entrusted to Him

Today’s reading: Psalms 141-145

“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life” - Psalm 143:8.

People ask me if I am afraid to travel, especially if it’s to a place that has been in the news due to some unrest or violence. My standard response is, “I gave my life to the Lord, I didn’t loan it to him to take back whenever it was convenient. If He chooses to take me home in my bed or on a plane, that’s up to Him.” My prayer has been the prayer of David in today’s verse: Show me the way I should go for I trust You, Lord.” Paul understood this thinking, for he wrote to Timothy, “That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day” (2 Timothy 1:12). Are you living in fear or have you entrusted your life, which includes your family, reputation, career, finances, and future, to the Lord? Are you trusting that God will show you the way you should go, and then are you proactively walking out what you think that way is?
