February 02, When God Delays

Today’s reading: Psalms 6-10

“But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish” - Psalm 9:18.

It may seem like God has forgotten you, but He never has and never will. He will delay in responding, however, because there are lessons He wants to teach you. What’s more, God will manifest the validity of the work He has done in you by delaying so He can reveal to principalities and powers that you are obedient in the midst of trials. The Lord described this process in Deuteronomy 8:3-5:

He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years. Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you.

Is God humbling you and how are you responding to this season in your life?
