February 05, God Pleaser

Today’s reading: Psalms 21-25

“In you, Lord my God, I put my trust” - Psalm 25:1.

Perhaps you are familiar with Hebrews 11:6, which states, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” If without faith, it’s impossible to please God, then with faith it’s possible to please Him. You can bring joy and pleasure to God’s heart when you cease from striving to manage your life in your own efforts, and relax, putting your trust in Him — for career, finances, relationships and ministry. Where are you trying too hard in your own efforts? Where do you need to stop and make a conscious and once-and-for-all decision to trust God? Whenever you do that, rest assured that you have pleased God! Lord, those are not just words, for I do indeed put my trust in You. Help me to learn new levels of trust as I serve and follow You. Remind me when I take the reins of my life away from You, and forgive me when I am afraid and try to take matters into my own hands.
