Today’s reading 141-145

“Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground” - Psalm 143:10

In this psalm, David was asking God’s help as he carried out his dual roles of teacher and leader in the power of the Spirit. David acknowledged that he needed the Spirit’s help to do God’s will, and prayed the words in today’s prayer on his own behalf. Centuries later, Jesus described the Spirit’s role in your life in John 16:13: “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.” Are you praying for yourself? Are you asking in faith that God will guide you, and then trusting that He is answering your prayer?
