July 3, Dealing with Godless Fools

Today’s reading: Psalms 11-15

“The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good”
- Psalm 14:1.

A correct understanding of God is required for any and all righteousness. Without that, God identifies the godless as fools and their ability to do good is minimized. Therefore, the best way to turn around evil and wickedness is to convert the evil doer into a God-fearer. That makes world evangelism the top priority for anyone who wants to make a difference in the world. You can pursue evangelism by going and doing, or by supporting those who are gifted and willing to go, including a local church who preaches the gospel and makes evangelism a priority. Remember, no one is beyond God’s reach, and the Apostle Paul is a good example of that:

Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 1:13-14).

Are you committed to the work of evangelism? How so? How can you increase your role in reducing the number of godless fools in the world?
