March 23, Your Breakthrough

Today’s reading: Psalms 111-115

“He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes, with the princes of his people. He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children”
Psalm 113:7-9

God is the God of the turnaround. You can be in dire straits one day and the next you can have all you need to prosper. When you think of it, you are just one phone call, one chance meeting, one idea, one speech, one sales call, or one appointment away from the breakthrough for which you have been waiting and praying. When I read today’s verses, I thought of what Mary said when she found out she was pregnant:

“His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation. He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts. He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty” (Luke 1:50-53).

Can you thank God today for your breakthrough, even before it comes? Can you encourage yourself today that you are just that close to the fulfillment of your dreams and answer to your prayers? If that’s true, how should you act and feel: defeated or victorious?
