May 18 Rejoice and Celebrate
Today’s reading: Psalms 86-90
“Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, Lord. They rejoice in your name all day long; they celebrate your righteousness” - Psalm 89:15-16.
Blessed, rejoice, light, celebrate are words I want you to notice as you read these verses today. You are a blessed person if you know the Lord, for God gives light to your way so you can know His will and understand His ways. Realizing that should cause you to rejoice and celebrate His righteousness and presence all day long. Do you? Is the joy of the Lord a hallmark of your persona and attitude? Is God’s light shining on you to show you the way you need to go on a daily basis? Are you celebrating God’s goodness toward you? If not, what is keeping you from entering into these things that are rightfully yours as a child of God? John 15:10-11 states, “If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” That means you need to do what you must to ensure that God’s joy is in you and be diligent to address and remove anything that may be standing in its way.
